Did you know that a lot of the things that take place around Battle Creek Elementary are made possible only through the fundraising efforts of the Battle Creek Parent Club?

It’s true!

Battle Creek Parent Club helps to fund most of the school’s field trips; we pay for in-classroom supplementary education opportunities for the students (think: special visitors such as OMSI); we sponsor BCE community-building events such as Family Fun Nights; and we even provide classroom funds to the school’s teachers to help offset their out-of-pocket costs.

To achieve these goals, the Battle Creek Parent Club has numerous fundraising projects in place throughout the school year.

The best news of all — you can help us with these fundraisers (and with minimal time or effort)!

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION

The Battle Creek Parent Club has participated in the Box Tops for Education program for the past 2 years, since the 2015-16 school year… and we have raised nearly $3,000 through this fundraising program in those 2 years. You can help us meet (and exceed) our annual goal in 2017-18! All you need to do is clip* the Box Tops from qualifying products that you have purchased (you’ll be shocked at how many products have them, when you start paying attention!)… and send those Box Tops in to school with your students on a weekly or monthly basis. Most of our school’s classrooms have collection points, and/or the staff will know where to tell the students to drop off their Box Tops.

If you’re interested in learning more about the overall Box Tops for Education program, CLICK HERE to visit their website.

*make sure that you cut completely outside of the dashed lines of each Box Top; the program does not accept Box Tops that have any portion missing

AMAZON SMILE

Ever since the 2016-17 school year, Battle Creek Elementary has been a part of the Amazon Smile program! This means that if you select “Battle Creek Parent Club” as your Smile charity, your child’s school will earn money back every time you shop on Amazon!

It couldn’t be easier to participate. Here’s all you have to do…

  1. Click HERE.
  2. Log-in to your Amazon account to apply “Battle Creek Parent Club” to your account as your Smile charity.
  3. From now on, when you visit Amazon to shop… visit smile.amazon.com (instead of just amazon.com). If you type in the “smile” version of the address (or bookmark THIS LINK in your browser), BCE will earn money every time you shop!

It’s such a simple way to help earn money for the students at our school, on all of the purchases you would normally make anyway. Pass along this information to your family members (grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.) and let’s get as many people as possible helping out with this all year long!

JOG-A-THON

This is our biggest fundraiser each year, and it takes place once a year in the fall. For the 2017-18 school year, it is scheduled for Friday, October 6, 2017.

We will have a lot of volunteer opportunities* for this event — A SIGN-UP FORM WILL BE AVAILABLE SOON. CHECK BACK!

In addition to volunteering at the event, you can help with this fundraiser simply by helping your child participate in the fundraising portion of the event. It is important to note that Jog-A-Thon donation envelopes and general info sheets will go home with children in their Monday folders after the 2017-18 school year begins (so check your kids’ backpacks in the coming week or two if you haven’t yet seen these materials!  ).

*PARENTS WHO WISH TO VOLUNTEER… please note that to volunteer at this event (or any event involving BCE’s students), you must first have completed the Salem-Keizer school district’s criminal background check form (and received approval). You can find this form linked on our FORMS & INFO page here at the Battle Creek Parent Club website.

FAMILY FUN NIGHT RAFFLE

This has been another one of our biggest fundraisers for each of the past 2 years (ever since we launched it in 2015-16), and we hope to make it even bigger, better, and more fun this year!

Right now, the next Raffle event is scheduled to take place at this school year’s second Family Fun Night in February 2020.

More information about this event will be available soon; check back for more information and/or to learn how to donate items to the raffle.
